To understand where we are in the landscape world we need to reflect on where we came from. 

Ben Lowry Hoyle has had a passion for plants and the outdoors for as long as he can remember. In February 1998, he founded Blue Gecko Limited and in the same year exhibited in what was to be the first of many successful landscape exhibitions here in New Zealand and internationally. 

Designing and building exhibition gardens are a specialised craft all on their own and it was here in this often brutal pressure cooker environment that Ben's focused eye for detail, textural plant compositions and innovative out of the box thinking was forged. Today that Blue Gecko has blossomed into Lowry Hoyle Landscapes and we continue to carry those values of inspired innovation grounded in decades of practical horticultural and environmental knowledge. Because experience tells us that the best landscapes are found when the built and the planted are in harmony with the people and place they were meant for.
